IRS fax numbers by form

The IRS uses different fax numbers for different forms and offices. Choose what you need to do, then check the number for your location on the form’s directory page. Each number has a check date and an official IRS source.

If you have an IRS notice

Follow the instructions on your notice. If it asks you to fax a response, use the number it gives you. The numbers here are for the listed forms and may go to a different office.

Before you fax

Check the signature requirements and what to include on the form’s directory page. See the tax documents FAQ for cover sheets and sending questions. Each number has a button to send with that number filled in.

After you send

Faxette’s delivery confirmation means the receiving fax machine accepted the pages. It does not confirm that the IRS has reviewed or approved your form. If the fax fails, see why your fax failed for what to do next.
