Faxette

Privacy policy

Last updated October 25, 2026. This explains what we collect when you send a fax or create an account, why, who else handles it, and how long we keep it.

Who is responsible

Faxette is run by Sbergio BV, Avenue des Tilleuls 2a, 1180 Uccle, Belgium (enterprise number 0717.670.930). Sbergio BV decides how your data is used and is responsible for it.

Email [email protected] with any question about your data.

What we collect

  • When you send a fax: your files and their names, the fax number, your email, the page count, the price, and the result of each attempt.
  • If you create an account: your email, your name if you add one, your password (stored only as a hash), and your two-factor settings if you turn them on.
  • If you continue with Google: your Google account ID, email and name. Nothing else from your Google account.
  • When you pay: Stripe collects your card and billing details on its checkout page, and your VAT ID if you enter one on eu.faxette.com. We never see your card number. We keep Stripe's reference to the payment, the amount, and whether it was held, charged or released.
  • When you use the site: your IP address and browser details, to block abuse and keep the service running, and short error reports when something breaks.

Why we use it

  • To send your fax and run your account. We need this to provide the service you asked for.
  • To keep payment records. Belgian accounting and tax law requires it.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, keep the service secure and fix errors. This is in our legitimate interest, and in yours.

We don't sell your data, show ads, or send marketing emails. The emails we send are about your faxes and your account.

Who else handles it

These companies process data for us, only to provide their part of the service:

  • Stripe: payments, tax and invoices.
  • Telnyx: sends your fax over the phone network.
  • Postmark: sends our emails.
  • Cloudflare: stores your files, protects the site from bots, and handles our domain.
  • Fly.io: runs the app.
  • PlanetScale: runs our database.
  • Sentry: error reports.
  • Plausible: counts visits to our pages, without cookies.
  • Google: only if you continue with Google.

The fax machine at the number you enter receives your document. That's the point of sending it.

If you use Faxette through an AI assistant, what you tell the assistant is handled by the assistant's provider, under their own privacy policy.

Where it's stored

Faxette runs as two separate sites, and your files, account and faxes stay with the one you use:

  • www.faxette.com keeps them in the United States.
  • eu.faxette.com keeps them in the EU, in Frankfurt.

Some of the companies above are based in the United States, such as Stripe, Telnyx and Postmark, so data from eu.faxette.com can reach them there. When it does, it's protected by safeguards such as the EUโ€“US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Files you upload but never send: deleted after 2 hours.
  • Unpaid faxes: canceled after 24 hours, and their files deleted.
  • Your documents and the fax we build from them: deleted 48 hours after the fax finishes, or as soon as it's delivered if you turn on "Delete documents after delivery". Their file names are deleted with them.
  • The record of each fax and payment (fax number, pages, price, times and result): at least 7 years, counted from the January after the payment, as Belgian accounting law requires.
  • Your account: until you delete it in Settings. Deleting it removes your account, your documents and your details at Stripe. We keep the fax and payment records for our books, no longer tied to you, with the fax number cut to its last 4 digits.

Status links

Each fax has a status link that can't be guessed. Anyone with the link can see the fax's status, number, price and file names, but never its contents. Keep the link to yourself.

Cookies

We only use the cookies the site needs: one to keep you signed in, one to protect forms, and Cloudflare's bot check. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe's checkout page is on Stripe's site and uses Stripe's own cookies.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, or to object to how we use it. You can also ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within a month. You can delete your account yourself in Settings at any time.

If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be), or, if you live in the EU, to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes

We can update this page, and the date at the top changes when we do.
