What to know before faxing immigration documents.
Can I fax documents to USCIS?
USCIS generally prefers online uploads or mail. Some workflows may give a fax number for urgent supporting documents—only use the number and instructions on your notice.
How should I format the fax?
One clear PDF when possible: cover sheet → case notice or receipt → your documents. Include the receipt number, names, date of birth, and any A-Number on the cover.
When should I send?
During business hours for the office handling your case. For time-sensitive RFEs or NOIDs, follow the notice exactly and keep the delivery receipt.
